The human body experiences emotion differently from the world because we know what death is, but we don't know when it is coming. This coupled with the idea of time, makes it hard for us to let go of the things that we love because we don't understand how to move past these existential boundaries that we boxed ourselves in with. This targets our emotions differently, which in turn makes us cry for different reasons beyond physical pain.

What is crying, and what does it do for us?

My plan for addressing that query, is this:

Make a list of every emotion

Find people who have experienced something that would bring that emotion, not just out, but to tears, especially if they were to tell it as a story

Video tape these people crying as they tell their story

Show people individually in a room, set up like a cinema, with one plush chair in the middle, these stories. The film is in black and white, and silent. All you see are the raw emotions.
